Embroidery design organization software

I am almost 80 & have many many designs that I would like to find without spending hours. Can any one recommend an easy, reasonably priced program to buy?

Try looking on Youtube.com, put in embroidery designs and see what comes up. Good luck.

You don't really need a program. What type of device are you using, PC?What types of designs do you already own?

You have to think a little backwards when creating the original files. How would you look for the design? How do you think? Do you want them stored by project, type, etc?

Then you create folders within your system. Just a tip to create and name the folder first. Then you can copy/paste OR drag/drop the EMB file into the correct named file.

I store my designs on a separate device. All designs from day one have been organized. It may be harder for you to go back and organize.

A free tutorial here.

My designs are in categories by vendors. Then in folders be design names. I do have a master list of designs by year so I have a second search option available.

Designs are also in alpha order by vendor. Yes, highly organized but easy to find any design.

What format does your machine use?

I try to keep only my format and delete the other formats. If the design is downloaded in a zip file, delete the "zip" and/or download after you have opened and organized the design.

Post here if you have questions or send me a pm. Rhonda

Thanks for the link. I've printed out her instructions and will put them to use this evening. Have only been embroidering for less than a year, and it's all ready gotten out of hand.

I do sort of what Rhonda does except I don't delete the original zip file. I keep the zip files as my master file in a folder called embroidery original files.

Or you can D/L embroidery file folders already named for free...and add more folders or folders within folders. I started with this and expanded so much I have to open the door to see it all. haha Be sure to read the instructions for opening and installing the D/L. http://www.secretsof.com/content/608

Thanks Mermaid!

I knew there was one more link out there that had categories.
