I was just given a Janome Memory Craft 300e from my mother. This will be a learning experience as I know nothing about embroidery machines, but always wanted one. My question is there is a slot for a memory card, and I will want to download designs. Can I purchase the memory card at Hancocks and what other item will I need....usb cord? Thanks in advance for your help.

Is there a place for the usb cord?If so your machine should have had a usb cord with it.Best place to look for the memory cards is at a Janome dealer.Connie in CO

I purchased my USB Cord from Staples and got my memory card from My Janome dealer. So you best bet is got to the Janome dealer and ask about these things. They may even offer you a class.

I have the 300e, and unfortunately you can't hook it up to the computer with a USB cord. You have to buy a special memory card and adapter. Hancock's doesn't sell them, I bought mine online but they were pretty cheap. It's a compact flash adapter (ATA PC) and memory card, and your computer has to have a flash card slot. Google "janome 300e card adapter" - there is a really good PDF tutorial by Jolie Fribley that should come up during your search. Hope this helps!!
