I've haven't heard too many dislikes for Embrid but that doesn't mean they aren't out there. I have 5D Pro and I'm really enjoying learning it. Right now I'm learning to digitize a picture frame using the cutwork needles on my Ruby. There is also a free program from ERA universal; its a full program. It only cost if you want a copy of CD which I was told is really good because it has installation instrucrtions plus extras on it. You could check it out. It is a full program to do it all

I love embird! You just need to practice with it is all.

I just purchased Embird, because I've been reading on the board, and there were so many who said they loved it! So far, I am totally lost and haven't got a clue on how to use it. It does not seem very user friendly, but maybe I haven't given it enough of a chance. It's kinda hard to though, when you have no clue what you are doing!

Their wedding colors are yellow/gold & light blue (teal), the wedding
flowers are white hydrangeas. I hope this quilt will be a good show
of their colors. This is going to be a wall hanging that is 25"x32" approx.
The back is an embroidered quilt label.

I also have some other embroidery I have been doing, but can't show
it just yet as I am not finished with it and it is for someone I am in a
swap with, she has to be the first to see it though.

Of course I am loving the jewelry (mostly earrings) that I am making
right now I am wearing a pair of "parrot" earrings.

Louise, that's an awesome wedding quilt! I've seen many do earrings lately and it looks like something fun to do but I don't have the time in the day for it! I got my sewing room unpacked and ready to go and finish an embroidered kitchen towel for my mom. I'll post pics when its done. :)

I have been a commercial machine embroiderer for (gasp) 40 years! Back when I started all work was done on old Singer freehand machines, took a bit of practice. Over the years the machines became mechanised, then computerised, with many sewing heads. Where I used to work we had a few 12 head machines and it was a task keeping up with hooping, trimming etc. I was fortunate to learn digitising on the job. Eventually my husband and I set up business from home; we purchased commercial software (lots of $$$) and a 9 needle single head machine. Later as our business grew we purchased a 15 needle 4 head machine.
About 10 years ago I bought a domestic embroidery machine (my toy) a Brother Super Galaxie 3000. I quite like it and use it a lot, but the commercial machine stitched better and had nice big hoops, about 11" x 15".
I used the commercial machine to embroider larger designs on quilts, and for quilt motifs.

We sold our house back in 2009, and all our business equipment except the digitising software, which I still use.
Sorry this is so long. The first pic shows quilting done on the commercial single head machine.
The other pics are recent projects all done on the Brother.

Beautiful Jill B.

I would someday LOVE to get the Brother 6 or 10 thread (single head)
machine when I made mention of this to my hubs he said we didn't
have room for a machine like that.

I told him if we got rid of the tv in the living room there would be more
than enough room as it would take up less space. Heck we don't watch
that tv much anyways MAYBE about 1-2 hours per week if even that much.

Our main tv is in the bedroom where we record all our favorite programs.
