Has anyone out there used their embroidery machine to do the quilting on their quilts? I am looking at purchasing the Snap Hoop- it says you can embroider a quilt sandwich. Just wondering if anyone has used that product or used their emb. machine to quilt.

Part of the reason I just bought the Janome 11000 is because of the acufill feature. However, I haven't used it for that yet.

I used both my Duetta and CV to M.E quilts.
I did not need a special hoop, nor stabilizer. I just hooped regularly, used just an outline embroidery (from embroidery library. I slowed the machine down and scrunched the quilt up and around the machine so there were no tension issues. Turned out pretty good. I'd do it again. I did two quilts and several toppers this way. I have done several quilts that I have quilted in the hoop. The trick is finding designs that are already formatted for quilting, or drawing up and digitizing your own using your embroidery software.
I simply put my quilt sandwich into the hoop and stitch the design in place. With my particular machine, I've noticed that I have to increase my tension quite a bit when quilting with it. Good luck! |

there is a picture of a quilt that I used my Bernina Deco 650 w/continious line quilting in the plain blocks. I used low loft batting and the hoop worked fine. Any questions, just pm me. Hope this helps |

I use my embroidery machine to quilt. Embroidery Library has many designs to do quilting. I love it.
