Janome 10001, I love that machine. It's been my main machine for years. Very user friendly.

I am actually selling a Deco 600 does a 4 x 4 field got it at our Bernina dealer. I wanted a larger field so I did get a new one. This machine works perfectly , comes with lots of designs as I have accumulated a lot of designs and can't use them in the new machine. Also I have an extend hoop and Magic Box where you can convert designs. Selling very inexpensively would love to have someone be able to use..PM me if interested.....

Look at the Bernina 440 QE. I love mine. It's a workhorse and does both quilting and embroidery. You might even get a good used on from your local Bernina dealer.

If possible, try several brands. If you are not good with computers (you are buying a computer that embroiders!) look for a dealer that you like and will provide continuing support. Get the largest embroidery field that you can afford. Try to avoid cards, get one with a USB port. As someone mentioned, reserve some $$$ for thread and stableizers. Dealers often have trade ins complete with classes and warranties. I have Vikings and love them!

I have a Bernina 180E, and love it. New machines are expensive, used machines are available. Call dealers and sew on several brands to see what you like. Everyone likes
different machines, you will be the only one to make this discision.

Janome has several embroidery machines, they are user friendly and dependable. But also look what dealer is in your area, if they offer classes. Try several out.

I just got a Janome 300e and I love it. EASY to use. I've had so much fun with it and I've only had it for a week. Good luck on your decission! If you have any specific questions I can answer about the Janome 300e, just let me know.

If you do buy used make sure that the machine has a usb port for reading your designs off your computer, some of the older machines rely on card readers and unfortunately that function is no longer supported by those companies,,ie husqvarnia viking...I do like HV for embroidery but they are pricey...

I have the Babylock Ellure Plus. I love it. It is very easy to use, it connects to your computer so you can load designs you have downloaded. There is a lot of sites that offer free designs. It does designs 4" to 6 x 17". The stitching is beautiful. I also have Designer Gallery, a computer program that converts other company's design to pes designs.
