I have a Baby Lock Ellegante 2 and I love it.

I have Janome embroidery machines (350E for one)and found them to be not very user friendly. Most of the time I just decieded it was not worth frustration and gave up. I now have Vikings SE and Diamond, and love them! I can sew and embroider with it, is very user friendly, I can plug in anything that uses a usb. It also reads all kinds of formats so if you can't get the design in Hus or VP3 you are not out of luck. Don't know if this is the case with other brands.I have not had any problems with them and have not regretted buying them for one second. Upgrades are free to software. I had to pay for upgrades from Janome. Make sure you research and test drive before you buy! It is a big investment so make sure that it does everything that you want and is user friendly.

The Brother SE400 at Walmart has the usb but only 4x4 hoop The Janome 350E hoop is 5.9 X 7.9 I have a Janome 11000 and Brother ULT but my sis has the 350E and she loves it as a back up embroidery machine I like the 11000 because it cuts the jump stitches boy can that spoil you. I love machine embroidery but it can be time consuming Just make sure you get a good dealer that is key if you go for the more expensive machines If you are going to spend the money for it learn all that it will do

I have a Brother ULT 2001, a little old but she does a fine job. The new ones have usb ports, wireless connnections OMG it's all good!

I purchased a Bernina 350 almost 20 years ago and have used it almost to death. It only has a 4x4 size motif and uses the PES format. It is a machine made with a Brother patent. I just recently upgraded to a Brother PE780D. It has Disney designs built in and the good news is it also is the PES format so I can use my design cards from the Bernina in it as well as use a USB stick to import designs. Over the years I have purchased several thousand dollars worth of embrodiery cards, cds, a Magic Box etc. as well as thread, stabilizers etc. I can use almost all of it in the newer machine. I also paid almost half as much for the newer machine as I did my origanial, less than $1000. I have always prefered the stand alone embroidery machine because I can have it sewing out a motif while I am working on my regular machine or serger. It also has the 5x7 capacity which allows me to sew out a bigger design.

To start with I bought the deco330. I wanted to make sure that I enjoyed the embroidery machine and that it was something that I reaaly wanted to keep doing. 4 years later I traded in, one of the two Deco's on the Bernina 830. I didn't want to invest $$$ if I wasnt going to like it.

all I need it to do.

I have a Janome 6600 which I love. I use a lot of decorative stitching on my quilts and think it adds a lot of interest to a quilt. I use W&N batting so only need quilting every 10". I heard Janome is introducing a new embroidery/maybe sewing machine this fall. Hoping it's a update to the 11000 series. Saving my pennies for sure!

Recently, I became an owner of a Sofia by Baby Lock. So far it will do everything I need. It only has one hoop but you can put a pretty good design in that size space. Apparently, If I really, really like this machine I can upgrade to a larger more comprehensive machine by just adding a few more dollars. Not really sure if I will need anything more than this one. It sews and embroiderys very well.

I chose my machine by the support from the shop selling.
We became very close and have had many learning experiences together.
I have a Viking and it is a formitable piece of equipment.
I'm still trying to learn it all. It is soooo smart.
