I have 3 Pfaff 7570s and I really love them!! it has so many fancy stitch's 30 of them are 9mil. It does all the embroidery I could ever want to do, and the stitch's are so nice! I do have a newer machine but hardly ever use it but just use my 7570's for every thing, Have one set up for embroidery, one set up for piecing (love the IDT) and one is set up for machine quilting.again that IDT is wonderful! I do not see any time when I would need a newer machine, you might want to check out a older machine to see what you do like about it and what you do not like, and you can save 100s or more!

I have had a Janome 350 and 300. My first embroidery machine was a 200 Janome and I love that machine so much. The hoop is approx 5 x 5, but I find most designs that I want fit this hoop. The way the hoop hook onto the machines makes the embroidery design stich out perfect everytime. I had trouble with the 300 and 350 because the hoop attached on the end and certain fabric would stich out not aligned right. The 200 Janome is priced right and it is my favorite. Oh, I do have a Bernina 200 with embroidery attachment and it is so-so, I bought it used, would not pay the amount for a new one, too over priced.

I have 2 upper end Bernina embroidery/sewing machines and love them both. I do embroidery on almost all of my quilts and always make my lables using the embroidery machine.

I have two Bernina machines -- the 830-E <the pricey one> and the 630-E. They both do beautiful embroidery, but the 830 has a larger hoop. And the saying that "Nothing Sews Like A Bernina -- Nothing!" is definitely true for me.

I have heard that people love their Bernina's, but I was disappointed. Maybe I have a lemon, but at least 5 needles break everytime I use it, very frustrating. It is just everything for a Bernina is very expensive and you have to go to a dealer. It just turns me off.

I have a Janome MC10001 for 9 years. It is the only one that I know of that has the built in moving arm and only needs the hoops to attach it to. They also have a cloth setter which is a great asset.

You can't beat a Brother for their price. I have 4 and love em all!

Sarah, before you decide on any machine, PLEASE decide how big an embroidery area you want. I bought a brother that only did a 4X4 area. Well I fell in LOVE with embroidery and ended up having to buy a different machine with a larger embroidery area. My brother was a true work horse and I still have it. Good luck and let us know what you end up with.
