I have used pearl cotton for applique and fancy stitches, only it's used in the bobbin (I have an extra casing with the tension screw removed). First straight stitch around the edge of the applique, this gives a guide line to sew the blanket stitch or such from the back side.

Hi, I have the HZL-DX7 which I think is very similar to the Juki HZL F600. I don't think those machines can handle any thread "bigger" than 30 wt. Maybe check your manual.
I have a Juki TL2010Q, and have used 12 wt on that machine, but when I tried it on the HZL-DX7, it definitely didn't work ... Looking forward to reading what other quilters have to say. |

AHHHH!!!! Now that is an idea!!! Hmmmmm....I think I'm going to have to try that.... |
How is the thread wound on the spool? Did you try using a thread stand so the thread can unwind easily? There shouldn't be any kinks or loops as the thread goes into the machine.

I use floriani, Robinson Anton, and a few others. Make sure your needle is also the right size. When threading your machine make sure your presser foot is up, this will really effect how it goes thru the thread feeds. I've even used Aurifil, it depends on the look you want

Yes I should have made it clear that you will need to buy another bobbin case for this, as if the screw pops out you will find it very difficult to get it back in.

I agree, a second bobbin case is a smart idea...I saw a Bobbin Work video with beautiful embroidery that was very intriguing so I have one on my shopping list.

I ordered the 12wt thread and it's perfect! Not as great as regular but so close it will work perfectly! Thank you everyone!!
