Embroidery Thread
 

What kind of thread can you use to hand embroidery? I am going to order fabric from Connecting Thread and would also like to order thread.

Good morning jackiemc, I'm using Presencia because it's colorfast. The last hong I want is for the color to run and ruin all my work.

For hand embroidery I have always used DMC floss. I have done several fusible applique quilts with buttonhole stitch done by hand and I have never had a problem with the colors running. I have always used DMC for my hand stitched crazy quilting too. I love all the beautiful colors and the sheen.

DMC is all I've ever used. Lots of color choices and the color doesn't run.

I'm using Presencia because when I was in a class that is whay my instructor told me to use. I don't like having to seperate the DMC floss into the appropriate number of strands--always knots up on me.

I'm a long-time DMC girl, too. Been using it since my mom taught me to embroider in the 60's (yes, I am "old")! DMC also has other weights that work but I can't remember right now the names. sheesh. tgif!
