Encoder problems on a long arm, please help
I've been helping a friend set up her long arm. It's a Husqvarna Platinum 3000.
It was professionally serviced and disassembled for moving. We've reassembled it. Now the encoders are registering negative numbers and we're not sure why. Any ideas or assistance helpful, thanks! |
I found this group on Yahoo, but there are only 21 members and it is not very active. Still, if you join the group, you might be able to get some help there. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Platinum3000/info
Did you install the encoders before installing the machine? According to this PDF, that is the proper order: http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/SiteM...l.pdf?ext=.pdf I found these Youtube videos, but don't know if they will help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ2-JIXxmGQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaqA...-Cg0Y88DaFK9ck Here is a link to the entire series of Youtube videos that includes the link directly above: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...-Cg0Y88DaFK9ck |
Sounds like something is reversed or plugged in backwards. Are you sure they have not been crossed and plugged into the wrong place?
|
We've checked that they'e not crossed and are plugged in correctly, but thank you for that thought Tothill.

Prism99,
Thanks for these suggestions, we'll look at them. I' m starting with the PDF re installation. |
OK,
And the answer to this problem was--------- the motor box direction had gotten reversed in the settings. How this happened is a great mystery as we hadn't even gotten into that area of the tablet/programming. Re-set to factory default cleared the problem (and so would have changing motor box direction in the settings). My current working theory is that the tablet battery totally discharged and on re-powering did some funky stuff of it's own, likely in revenge for letting everything sit for a couple months! |
Happy to hear you got it working again!
