I have finally finished my one and only EPP. It was a free design from cddeisngs.com but I sent for the paper pieces. Tiring on the hand and tennis elbow, even with gloves.

Turned out great the points look perfect! I just got the Pie and Tart quilt pattern/paper pieces. Looked like fun until I seen how tiny tiny the pieces for the tarts are. I do enjoy paper piecing though!

It's lovely, but I'm not surprised the EPP didn't grab you as a method. Get Ruth McDowell's Piecing Workshop, that'll teach you a much more flexible method using freezer paper. It's designed for complex piecing, but I've also used it very successfully on simpler piecing such as the quilt you just made. You don't end up sewing through paper with the McDowell method, you'll be relieved to hear.

I love the hexagon, but there is so much more you can do with EPP (English Paper Piecing) than the GMFG. Do you mind if I save your picture for when I put up a gallery for the Southwestern project? cindy PS. I am the one that gave the workshop. 8o) |
