Enlarging Shakespear in park

Hi everyone!! my big project for this year is Judy Martin's Shakespeare in the park quilt from her book, The Creative Pattern Book. The size finished size of the quilt is 76.5 x 93.5 and I would really love to make this in a king size, but I am matmatically challenged as to how to enlarge the quilt accordingly. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!!

I would just add another row of blocks - this layout is 3x4, so I would make it 4x4.

Aren't the Snails Trail block 12" and the star block 6"? Shouldn't be too hard to add an extra Snails Trail or 12" and 2 of the star blocks each way. Since I'm mathematically challenged, I don't know what the final width or length would be. I'm mostly a just do it kind of person.

Here is a better explanation of my suggestion. Since this is set on point, you will need to make the red-outlined extra blocks:

- 5 extra snail trail blocks
- 2 extra large stars with white background
- 2 extra large stars with dark background
- 2 extra small stars (white background)
- 2 extra small stars (dark background)
- 1 dark setting square and 1 light setting square
- 4 setting triangles (for around the outside edges)

Continue the pattern on the left side of the quilt, inserting the extra blocks where the orange line is. You will have to switch the dark and light stars on the outer border to match the rest of the quilt - use the other sides as a guide for colour placement. This will make the finished quilt 93.5" square. If you want it bigger, I would add borders to get the finished size you want.

I hope this makes sense! Good luck, and post pictures. One of these years I'm going to tackle this quilt, and I love seeing other people's successes.

Jennifer23, What a great help your post was to Lisa! Thank you for sharing and I too will be saving this post for the future. It is such a beautiful quilt no matter how big or small you make it.

What a glorious quilt and what good ideas! I think I would just add borders and you can make it any size you want.
