Thank you ladies for your remarks on if I should wash my fabric before making a quilt for the fair...well I started the quilt and I am just about done with it, the fabric has not been washed and I have been very careful while sewing it to keep it clean without any marking on it..

I checked with the rules of the fair entries and they just said clean and press, and what VickS said go for our fair to.. I'm not sure why I'm doing this but thought it would be fun to see my quilt hanging at the fair..crazy right LOL..thanks for you replies on this.

they must be clean- mark free for entry.
every quilted item i make is laundered as soon as the binding is done- it is to me the last and best step of the whole process.

I understood the question to be that unwashed fabric is usually more slick?, polished?, neat?

Nothing about rules
