I guess I've had my head in the fabrics too long and didn't even realize there was such a book. I just found the 1 and the 2 'companion' books to EQ6...does anyone have them and do you think they are worth having??Does the 2nd book simplify it at all??Any input would be appreciated! Thanks Skeat

Hi Skeat, I don't have them and am not even sure what they are. Where did you find them? Amazon? Barnes & Noble? I have never even read the manual that came with my software. I just loaded it and started pushing buttons.

Seems that there are 4 of them.
http://www.electricquilt.com/Shop/EQ.../EQ6BooksR.asp Less expensive elsewhere, of course. Planet Patchwork has a special on the first three for $49 http://webstore.quiltropolis.net/sto...0&parent_ids=0 |
Here's where I found them today...go to: http://www.trinityquilts.com/category.php?category_id=377&page=2
check it out!! Skeat |
I have EQ6, and books 1 and 2 didn't know there was a 3....I am ashamed to say I don't use them that often...keep finding other quilts I like and keep doing them....I have used it to check out colors.....how they would look...book 2 is about different Blocks and it does give you a lot of ideas...I think you should go somewhere where you can view the book yourself and see if it would be right for you.... don't know if that helped or not but thats my 2 cents.. :-)

cathie, I'd be glad to peek into that book...only there aren't any around here to peek into:))That there is the problem for me:))So, I have done the next best thing and put it out there for anyone that does....to tell me if it is worth the $$$ or not. Thanks Skeat

Skeat, I too would like to know if it is worthwhile owning those extra books with my EQ6. I don't even look at the manuel that came with EQ6 that much. I did do those tutorials though. Still just playing with it you learn a lot. Hope you get a satisfactory answer so we will all know. :-)

Skeat.....gee it's hard to say if it is worth the $$$ I just haven't found the time to really look at them...but I think if you are into designing your own quilt...it maybe worth while...book two is just a step by step lesson book...
Lesson 1 Starting with the libraries Lesson 2 Starting with a Quik Quilt Lesson 3 Starting from Scratch Lesson 4 Adding a Layer Lesson 5 Exploring Serendipity and Symmetry Lesson 6 Customizing with EasyDraw Lesson 7 Customizing with PatchDraw Lesson 8 Continuing in Custom Set Index Tools Quick Reference hope that helps give you an idea what is in the book.... book one is: Classic Pieced Contemparary Pieced Foundation Pieced Classic Applique' Contemporary Applique' Motifs Quilting Stencils Overlaid Blocks Border Blocks Reference Information and Index Well Skeat don't know if this helped or not ...guess you'll have to decide...sorry you are unable to check it out at a book store.... |
I have had EQ for about 2 month now I think and I use the book that came with EQ6 a lot. I have completed the lessons in the book and I am going back through it again. I have learned as much the second time as the first. I also have the book on drawing blocks and it is fantastic. If you draw a lot of blocks and you like to do kaleidoscopes or New York Beauties I think it is a must.
I keep the book that came with the program close. I do not need it as much as I did but I still look stuff up. There are some really great web sites with info out there and you can download a chapter of some of the books at the EQ website. I think the ones that have a free chapter are the EQ Simplified and the Applique Book Hope this helps you. tricia |
sorry you are unable to check it out at a book store.... ///Me too! That was really nice of you to go to all that typing!! Thanks! Skeat
