Windows Essentials is a great security program - Kaspersky seems to cause a lot of problems - I have to admit I haven't used it as I run Trend and have also run Windows Essential.
Hope all your designs are safe as I know it would be horrible to lose all your work. Fingers crossed for you.

I'm another that would ignore that particular virus warning. You are not (typically) doing anything online with EQ - regardless of version - and, therefore, should have no specific virus issues with that software. Typically the only time virus problems are going to crop up is when you are manipulating a piece of software online. Unless you are downloading other EQ files from online there should be no problem and you can ignore the warning.

I couldn't ignore it-couldn't go any further than having to scan the computer. At least this way everything is cleaned out again, scanned for anything else (prompted me to change some issues that could have caused problems down the road) and I got an answer from Electric Quilt. Microsoft Windows Essentials let through a major virus awhile ago. Had to reformat everything. Never had an issue with Kaspersky except this one with EQ7. All fixable.
