I knew nothing about the program and now after two (there's 4) lessons I can make blocks, set quilt layouts, change colors etc. There's a forum for questions and the teacher, Fran, answers them quickly. Check it out, it's fun.

I got mine at the quilt in a day website for $132.97 about a month ago. But I looked for it on there a few minutes ago and they don't seem to have it anymore. Sorry!

I'm not real knowledgable with all it will do. Someday I'll spend more time playing with the program. I consider it a game-type program. It's fun playing with the blocks and colors.

EQ will give you the cutting directions, but does not give you any instructions for the construction of the quilt. You need to know how to put it all together. It is great for designing and auditioning fabrics.
|
EQ is a software program, no cutting fabric on it..

Just a lot of money to spend if folks don't think it is worth the money.

This looks good for paper piecing, but I'm on iMac....& the program requires Windows.

And what is Quilt Wizard? What does it do? TreeFrog Thank you for the link, I am there right now! I will let you know what I think of that, however I still think that I might get EQ7 TreeFrog Here is a link. http://www.quiltdesignwizard.com/qdw/default.asp Check it out. I am very new to quilting so it does just what I need it do for now. I just love it. I have designed three quilts and have had it for about a week. It's really easy to use. |

Thank you, I was begining to wonder just how difficult the program really was! lol I am still leaning towards getting EQ7! TreeFrog |

Thank you so much, I will look into a class. TreeFrog |

Lisa Marie EQ7? If not EQ7 then what is heavy and needs a dedicated space? This is causing me confusion! lol TreeFrog |

That sounds promising! Thank you so much! TreeFrog |
You can log on to the Quilt University class anytime...the only thing is they close the class 2 weeks after the last class. You can print or save the lessons to your computer for future reference.

I had EQ6 and didn't like it so I sold it. LucyInTheSky posted a tute the other day on using Excel. I prefer it, it's more fun.
|
I bought EQ5 several years ago. I love it. I can not justify upgrading though :( The fun thing about it is my 3 yr old boy thinks it is a game and is wanting to constantly play the quilt game. He has so much fun placing the blocks and recoloring them. (usually the same color for the whole block). I enjoy designing my own blocks and layout. Also getting an idea of how much fabric to buy. So if in your budget I say go for it. :D

I would like to buy one but am limited on funds I am disable if anyone has a good deal on one let me know. email me patben@comcast,net. Thank You Pat

Talk me into it! |
I had 5 and loved it (maybe I skipped over the bugs) but 7 is better and definitely worth it. At the time I got mine, the "upgrade" price wasn't any better than the full price but it was before it came out and a lot of stores had great preorder deals. I think it was around $142 so not far from what you've been offered.

Sounds good to me, I guess if you watch your 3 year old, you might learn something from him! lol Tree Frog |

You know I am not going to tell you what I paid for my photo editing program, so this price really isn't that high! I am going to order it from a neighborhood province! TreeFrog |

Is the EQ7 upgrade any good you can get it on ebay half the price???
|
The upgrade is the same as the full program, only you have to have EQ6 to upgrade.

I have an idea for a quilt and can't wait to see how it turns out. What I can't wait to see is what it will look like with different colors! TreeFrog |
