Now it all your faults so you have to help!

You were all singing the praises of EQ6 and EQ7 (I had never heard of it before), so I have pre-ordered it. It won't arrive until mid June to mid July.... so what I need it some tips on how to use it to get the most from it.

I use it to to enlarge/decrease blocks.
Create my own quilt blocks.
Preview your quilt before you cut fabric from your stash or before you even order the fabric.
I convert pieced blocks into paper pieced.
I redraw blocks to piece them without Y or inset seams.
It is easy to recreate a free pattern/block and you can print out yardages.

I am sure the longer I have it the more I will use the other features too :D:D:D I can't wait to receive it!!!

The best thing I can think of, that will help you the most, is to actually sit down and go through the chapters and the lessons.. At first it may seem like you'll be overwhelmed, but in less time than you think it will begin to sink in.. When it does you'll find you have the most useful tool you could imagine at your finger tips.. It is so much fun..

In order to make that process easier, get the book spiral bound so that it will lay flat.. doesn't cost much and makes it so much easier to use!

keep sticky notes and a pencil handy.. make notes to yourself.

Here are a couple of examples of a quilt pattern I was playing with in EQ. Both links show the same exact block, but I played with different fabrics as well as rotating the blocks using EQ.

To learn how to do this? It is mainly in the first few chapters of the manual :wink:

Once you learn the basics and run a few tutorials, you'll be hooked. I started with EQ5, upgraded to 6 and have ordered 7. I just love it. When you want to do a quilt and don't know where to start...EQ it!

I think lessons are the first thing that you should do. I tried w/o and got soooo frustrated!!! Then I started watching the videos and it reinforced what I just learned from the lessons. Its actually a lot of fun to play with.
