Essential Pro Polyester Thread from Connecting Threads
I'd be interested in hearing from any of you who use this polyester thread. I'm using it for the first time, and find it quite "linty" for a polyester thread. I've had to clean out the bobbin area more often than I usually do with polyester thread.
Also, I had a bit of a problem with tension when using this thread in both the needle and the bobbin. I ended up changing to Invisafil in the bobbin and keeping the Essential Pro in the needle. Tension is OK with that combination. |
I've used their Polyester thread and haven't had any problems with it. I find it less linty than their cotton thread and much stronger so less breakage. I use it in both the top and bobbin on my Innova.

Excess lint is caused by the ( whole sandwich) not just the thread. The top and backing fabric and the batting also adds to the lint. Needle size ( large needle) can also add to the lint. Generally there is less ( thread caused) lint from polyester thread. I've used essential pro for years.

What machine are you using?

I don't use poly on my old Bernina. She likes only Mettler and Aurifil. I make sure she is happy!

This is the only thread I use in my ancient HQ16. I use prewound Bottomline bobbins.

Occasionally, I have a lint problem with it. Most of the time, that is not the case. Lint in the bobbin case can also be deposited there from the needle going through the fabric, especially flannel) while quilting.
When I have tension problems, they are often related to the batting that I'm using. |
