If any of you long-armers have used "Essential Pro Thread" from Connecting threads, please let me know your opinions. I just saw that they have 5,000 yd cones for like $5.99....but it's 100% polyester - 70/3...which I guess is 3 ply and 70 wt as opposed to 50 wt. Sounds like a good buy, but not if it doesn't work well. Thanks.

i've used it and it works well. its a thinner thread similar to bottom line thread so it works in both the top and the bobbin.

the only downside i can say about the thread is the lack of color options they have either pale or dark zero vibrant.

i love the new machine quilting threads from connecting threads! i just finished a quilt with it and had very little lint, no breakage, the quilt turned out very nice.

I will be honest it lints really bad. I had just had my machine cleaned and cannot tell you how much lint I had. On the other hand I LOVE how it quilted and how it looked after I was done soooo. For the amount of time I spent dusting my baby it WAS SO WORTH IT!!! I did not break thread it sewed beautifully but linty it is worth the lint!!

are you speaking of their thread for longarm quilting because it has very little lint in my machine.

i found with their cotton thread i couldn't even quilting one row of a quilt without having to remove tons of lint before i could continue.

Has anyone used Glide thread on their longarm? Is it similar to Essential Pro? I am working on a quilt where I wanted to use the Glide but had too many tension issues so went back to Permacore.

Yes, I'm looking at their Essential Pro Thread for longarm quilting. That's what I want to use it for, if I buy it. It's 100% polyester, 70/3....I think that's 70 wt & 3 ply. Has anyone had tension problems with this thread? My HQ is so "thread picky" and tension adjustments!!!

my statement above refers to the Pro Longarm thread by Connecting Threads.

i have had great success with it and zero tension problems but i'm also used to quilting with a very fine thread such as bottom line.

i don't know about the lint comment from the person above thats why i made the comment to her asking for clarification.

i have never had lint with the Pro Longarm thread but suffered from lint overload with their 100% cotton thread.

i won't even use their cotton thread any longer for this reason for quilting or piecing.

i would say that Glide is very much like Essential Pro except Glide has a better color selection - that why i use Glide more the Essential Pro.

if you've never tried Glide contact them and they will send you a sample along with some prewound bobbins.
