I've been reading the other threads about the CT Essentials threads... its egyptian cotton, which I like like like... Do you use it for the top quilting only? Or do any of you use it for your piecing, too? I have been using the C&C cottons, but just did the math ~ even buying the C&C on sale, the Essentials will be cheaper when I buy the sets...
I have been having issues with Gutermann threads for the last year, breakage & linties... so I watch for the BOGO or 1/2 off sales on Coats... but am always open to a new thread if its good! If you only use the Essentials for top quilting, what do you use for your piecing? TIA :) |
I have used it tons for piecing.
Though, I am moving over to Aurofill for my bobbin thread. |
I use it for piecing, too.

Its the only thread I use quilting or piecing.

It's the thread I use the most for piecing.

I use it for piecing.

I bought about ten spools of medium gray a few years ago and don't use anything else for piecing. I have bought hoards of it for quilting and it's pretty much the main thing I use for that as well. I'm just beginning to experiment with other threads though so I can't really compare it much to anything other than Coats and Clark. I really want to try Superior's King Tut thread because I hear it sews so well, but for the price I can get about ten spools from Connecting Threads! LoL*

I purchase a pretty big order from CT. The advantage of it say over Coats and Clarks is it is dual purpose. On C&C maching quilting thread is you cannot use it to hand sew it comes apart. How nice it is to have thread in a wide range of colors. It was even less than buying C&C MT at half price.

I use it for everything as well, have been using only connecting threads essentials for over a year with no complaints. I don't think I have any other thread in my sewing room...unless it was bought a long long time ago!
