The amazing qualities of a new rotary blade! My hand was getting tired squaring up flying geese... so I decided to put in a new blade. WOW! Cuts great and no skipped threads. I don't know why I didn't do it sooner, I think I have like 5 new blades just waiting to be used.

Wow, that same thing happen to me last night. I was cutting and it kept skipping so I thought about what we have talked about here on the QB and changed the blade. Wow, I thought to myself what a concept

How funny. I did the same thing. I guess we just want to get as much use as we can out of those blades even thought I just use the cheap $1.99 Harbor Frieght blades.

It is a wonderful feeling when you cut with a brand new blade. I was struggling with a old one and put in a new one. I had only cut a couple of strips when I ran over a pin! I could have cried, now I have a new blade with one skippy spot. No Harbor Freight blades up here in Canada, I have to buy the expensive ones so I make them last as long as possible.

Every time I change a blade I wonder why I waited so long.

My Hero (aka my husband) does almost all my cutting for me.

He changes the blades more frequently than I used to. I asked him about it and he said he thought he put more wear on the matt with a dull blade than he does with a sharp one.

Makes sense to me- if the blade is dull, you're putting more force into cutting with it, which in turn digs it deeper into the mat? Just a thunk.

I'm guilty, too, though. I need to make sure I change my blade when I start my next project, this one is starting to give me issues. And HF is just down the street from me! (shhh, don't tell my dad!)
