I'm stiletto addicted, too. I panic when I've temporarily misplaced it! The one I use is from Clover; the handle feels very comfortable in my hand.

Jan, I too use and love my clover stiletto. When I moved I could not find it so had to buy a new one.

Thank you! I hope it is this easy :)

Simple fix for the veer. Put your index finger on the left side of the pressure foot (bottom) as you near the end of the seam. The seam will not go astray.

Off to Joann's! Thanks much!

I buy wooden shishkabob skewers from grocery store....many in the bag......saw in half, now you have twice as many! I prefer it to using metal stiletto....in case it gets too close to needle.......just sayin'

I have one of those purple thangs...but next time I can't find it, I'm going to try Onebyone's suggestion. : )

Use seam ripper all the time, but your tip about finger on left side sounds like a good thing, I always know where my finger is!

I use a tweezer. About 8 inches long with pointy ends. I can hold or align something easily with it and keep my fingers out of trouble.
If my memory serves me, DH bought at a woodworking store. Occasionally I wonder what in the world a woodworking enthusiast would use it for. |
My friend made me a stiletto using a turkey lacer and fancy beads, it is so cute. I am not good at posting pictures, but if you google how to make a stiletto using a turkey lacer, the directions come up.
