Yes I have. Here is another product called Stiffy that is similar and cheaper: http://longcreekmills.com/product/stabilizer3.html
It is on the bottom right. I have this and it works just as good. |
timtex has been around for years---it is what is used to make baseball hat brims stiff-
when my daughter got married 10 years ago she wanted 64 fabric bowls-for her tables to hold pillow mints---i used timtex (still use timtex) for making bowls and boxes.... i managed to get them all made---and she didn't even get one---people at the reception took every last one of them! |

I see you live in Northern Michigan. I live in Michigan between Detroit and Lansing. Where do you live? There are a bunch here on the board from Mi, we should have a Michigan meet n greet! :-D |
Joann fabrics also sells a product similiar called Pelltex. It is at the cutting counter.
|
I bet I used the similar Pelltex to make my fishing hat with a wide brim. Is it just basically a thick stiffener? Mine was not fusible on either side, but sold with the fusibles.
|
I think I also used something similar to make baskets for a charity event. For some reason this tute looked like it was binding to hold the curves.
