Can only imagine what the fabric goes thru at and from the mill to transporting it and to the retailer. Fabrics take a long journey before its final destination.

This can be a touchy subject. I know people who are just as avid about NOT prewashing as you are about washing. I have some interesting conversations with these folks.
Personally, I'm a washer. The maggots were a real bummer but congrats on the rest of your find. |

Since I took 8 bags, it might have been in one of them or all of them. I don't know. There were about another 8 bags left. Mainly non-cotton stuff. I hope whoever bought those bags is also a prewasher.

I'm a prewasher, too. I have never purchased fabric anywhere except at a fabric shop. I suppose something could come into my home from there, too. I wash all fabric as soon as I get it home. Not for the above reasons. Just because I can't wait to get started using it or to iron it and save it for later.

GROSS!!! I would've jumped around wiggling... those give me the heebie-jeebies, especially when they're a surprise. Lucky you caught 'em in the bag. Bleh. :)

That was gross.
