Well i went to the class!! It went close to how i expected. Find all the Tees u wanna use. Cut out the biggest part you can get out of the Tee minus the edging.. Then use non woven fuseable interface on each cut out. The reason for it is a few things, 1- stops the curling of the edges..2- Stops the stretch. They suggest using a Teflon pressable sheet. Use alot of Steam,, dont press! Also use a wet cloth/towel under iron. So now you need to start thinking about your design. Are all the Cut Outs the same size or do u need to quilt around the cut out or maybe add edging? They say a 1/4 seam allowance works fine. Now think about how warm you want this to be since Tees with a flannel for example can be pretty warm itself. So its not always necessary to use batting. Then finish as your heart desires.
I know many men that collect Tees and just keep them in a drawer or what have you. Make him a keepsake of his fav Tees then he will always SEE the Tees he loves so. Also a child in college loves these from there old Tees and maybe mix in some old clothes that were their favs. This can also be done with Sweatshirts- BUT they can get to thick to machine quilt and in some cases even a longarm ... so you might skip the batting,,, just a hint. You can also use childrens Tees. Just make a bigger block with fabric to match the size you have chosen. Unless you make it all whacko then just have FUN!!!
