I just finished cutting 176 five inch squares and 352 four inch squares from my scraps. You would think that would reduce the fabric in the scrap bins. But what's left won't fit back into the scrap bins.

I have the Gingher rotary cutter and it doesn't bother me to cut. I take lots of breaks though.

I think maybe smashing them into the bins in the first place may have contributed to the problem. When I took some out what was left breathed a sigh of relief and expanded. LOL

been there, done that. After cutting into various sized shapes, I used what was left for string quilts, using ugly fabric for foundations. I made about three quilts, say 50x60, from the strings. And still no room in the scrap basket...
