I bought my 48 x 96 self healing mat at this site.....
http://www.speedpress.com/cuttingmat...Fe5AMgodKWsA4g It has marking on both sides. One side is black and the other side is green. Have not had any issues with it and its been a couple years since I purchased it. I made my cutting table to fit the size mat I could find instead of the other way around. |
I won't buy any other but Quilter's Select cutting mats now. It is the best I have even used. I have a Sullivan's cutting mat that is 36 x 59 and I put the Quilting Select mat on top of it for cutting smaller size pieces. I like the Sullivan's for covering the table top and I can cut anywhere on it.

I also have tried different mats but my preference is the Olfa.
|
I like Olfa.
|
I put two aqua Fri*skars side by side on the worktable desk. The "seams" are secured with tape under the mats. These mats were originally on the cutting table and have groove cuts from previous cutting so I retired them.
The cutting table mat is the green Olfa and I like cutting on this one best. Wish they came in pretty colors though! |
I bought a 36 x 70 Olga 10 years ago and it's still going strong. I see every line. Looks like new.

It appears to me that the only Olfa extra large mats have clips. How does that work and do they get in the way???
|
Look up architect cutting boards, same as quilting ones but more sizes and much lower prices.
|
Interesting! Where do you buy an architect cutting board locally?
