I found a great fabric shop. If you live near a tiny town named Alpena, Arkansas check out the Rag Barn....she has great quilting fabric for only 2.49 a yard!

Where is Alpena? What larger city is it near? What quadrant? :?

No large cities around :D
Its between Berryville and Harrison in north central Arkansas.

Ashdown is as far as I've been in AR. I'm sure someone on here will be close!

Okay! I looked it up and see where it is! I visit Mammoth Springs, AR and Batesville on the way to Little Rock to visit my sister. It might be worth a side trip. I like Marshall Dry Goods in Batesville where I can get bolts and then rummage through the seconds for $1.00 a yard. Good for backs and scrappys!

I've heard about Marshall Dry Goods and been wanting to go....tell us more! I heard it was almost as big as an old Walmart.

It is HUGE! On the northwest side of Batesville just across the rail road tracks from the down town area, not on the main highway! They sell retail and wholesale! If you are wholesale, they let you wander among the bolts and choose your own! They have a wonderful website, Marshalldrygoods.com and let you order and they ship. I just enjoy the tables with fabric piled really high where you rummage and find treasures.
Retail looks like a regular yard goods store with fabrics on bolts and flats.
They have all the goodies you would normally find in a fabric store, embroidery blocks and baby tops, panels, embroidery floss, thread, and lots of fake fur, fleece and specialty fabrics, too. The gal cutters are a hoot! They work hard there because every time I have been in, they have been very busy

I wonder if the Rag Barn is online. I'll have to look.
