I was thinking a light blue as well. I'm not so much matchy-matchy but I do like my colors to coordinate. I also tend to pick a 'solid' color that coordinates with a lesser seen color in my focus fabric to make that lesser seen/fading color pop a bit more.

I've actually thought, "What were you thinking?" when I receive my order online. It will come in handy with another project, but I agree that your project needs another color choice. Not sure of your pattern, but IMHO dark blue might overpower.

I think I'm going to put these aside for different projects, and start again LOL

Thanks for all the input

Yes-the green is too much brightness. A pretty blue would be a very nice compliment to your other fabrics. I know when we order fabric online it is hard to get a true color of what we want or have in our minds. Good luck to you and maybe the green can be used in another quilt that you may make in the future.

So I went to my LQS and found the fabric! I really do like it ... you know what ticks me off? The cost of this fabric was the same cost as the three fabrics I bought from the States ... I cannot believe the price difference in fabric sometimes ... and this is why I find it very hard to shop local for some things.

Beautiful fabrics!

I know exactly what you mean, MarionsQuilts. I bought 2.5m of quilting fabric and one fat quarter today and it cost me $66.00, including tax.
I've never tried ordering from the States...who do you order from?

Watson

Watson, I almost NEVER buy fabric in Canada, the price is not worth it. I buy about 90% of my fabric from Missouri Quilt Company. I also use Connecting Threads, but Missouri Quilt is always my "go to" site, and their shipping is fast! And their customer service? I have never in my entire life had better customer service than these people. They will and do go out of their way to help you!!!!
