Thanks for the update! Your quilt is looking much better. It was a very valuable lesson on what we can do if we have a bleeder. With the mottled background fabric, the judges will never know. Good save!

so glad the bleeding came out I have some of the same red fabric you have shown and will be using it in my next quilt for son .It's good to know I need to wash and set dye first.Good luck with your beautiful quilt would love to see full size picture of it.

LoL, yes an oversized tub is great for washing quilts and also a great time saver for this mother of three young kids. I put all three in at once and scrub-a-dub! :)

kids turning pink!!

Glad that things have worked out today ... and hope you are now breathing a sigh of relief.

Now, please do show us the whole quilt! :)

I'm so glad this worked on your beautiful quilt. I've been following this thread because I am not a prewasher and I have some of that same red to use in my next project. Guess what I did this am? Yes, prewashed that red piece. Didn't bleed, but I'm so grateful to all who posted their help.
Can't wait to see yours finished!

I think she is talking about her Jacuzzi brand bathtub. I am going to have to show this thread to my DH. He keeps trying to get me to agree to a front-loader. I keep telling him they are not as good for quilting and he will have to put the old top-loader in the garage so I can still use it for quilts.

I don't know how to help... I just wanted to say I hope somebody here has a solution for you!

Your work is lovely!

Hugs

Oh, thanks! I missed that about the tub. Changes *entirely* my vision of how it was done!
