Hello to all my quilting friends. I bought on line a red and white log cabin kit. I am now ready to start cutting and I find that probably the fabrics have not been washed. (They are already in strips). So I put all the red fabric in the sink and as I had expected the red fabric starts to bleed. HELP... what now? I am not about to make this quilt spend all the time, love and then long arm it to have it not be washable. Does anyone have a simple answer to stopping the bleeding on this strips?

did you get the fabric to stop bleeding?

I believe it stopped or is good enough I am sewing with it now. I soaked it and drained it over and over and by the last time the water was pretty much clear. So I hope I'm all good now. Thank you for all your info there was products that I have never heard of nor ever seen listed. So I'm going to pick some up just to have in the house. Thanks everyone.
