Fabric Boxes --- Again
Got on the band wagon today. After making few, I thought they were a little "floppy" with just warm-n-white .
I decided to try "deco bond" along with the batting. I am very pleased. The boxes are firmer and stand up better. Love the boxes. |
Can/would you post picture?
|
I cut six out today and am working on them tonight.
Hope you will post photos as we all like seeing the combinations of fabrics used on the boxes. |
I plan to make some this week! Would love to see the ones you made.

I use a needle-punched polyester batting for this type of thing. I like it for bags, wall hangings etc. as I like them to be a bit firmer than regular poly. The needle punching creates an almost felt-like appearance and the texture reminds me of those green pot scrubbers, lol.
Unfortunately I don't know who makes this as I order it on line from a small quilt company under the heading 'Firm needled poly wadding (batting)'. Someone might know who makes this in the US. |
Is the deco bond fused to batting?
|
I fused the deco bond to the fabric. If and when I learn how to post photos from my iPad I will post pictures.
|
Is this the method you use? http://seaside-stitches.blogspot.com...-tutorial.html
|
Yes that is it. Had a ball making them, just need to figure what to put in them.

For gifts - How about a mug with mix for a single Mug Chocolate mix and instructions how to make the cake. Put dry mix in cellophane gift bag and put in box. Or maybe a hot chocolate mix with little marshmallows. Otherwise known as snowman poop or reindeer poop or elf poop!
