Fabric brands

I’m curious, what brands of fabrics do you prefer and why?

Claire123 12-11-2019 10:35 PM

I just go to my favorite quilt shop and browse. Sometimes I have a particular color I'm looking for, but I can always find something I like. Right now I lean toward the bright modern fabrics - Kaffe, Tula Pink etc.

I prefer modern prints - Art Gallery is very high quality and features new designers with a modern slant. Alexander Henry has interesting novelty prints (ghastlies, etc) and nice solids. I also like the Kokka linen blends from Japan and the collections from Cotton + Steel. I’ve also been pleased with the quality of Wyndham, Free Spirit, and Blend.

Northcott Solids, Colorworks 9000, I love the feel and the minimum fraying. Hard to find. But when I do I purchase the bolt in white, eggshell and ivory.

Art Gallery is by far my favorite

My very favorite brand is Moda. I love the quality and they always seem to have what I like.

These are my favorite too. Well woven and printed fabrics. Colors are crisp and the fabrics have minimal fraying.

Alexander Henry, Moda, Hoffman, P & B oh so many LOLOL Always at a quilt shop

I tend to like Moda designers and have always enjoyed the quality of their fabrics.

I still like the earth tones-Thimbleberries, etc. I have Hunter's and fishers in my family and tend to make quilts leaning more to the outdoors.

My favorites are Moda and Maywood. They have such pretty fabrics and a lot of colors I prefer. Henry Glass is another good brand too but don't find too much of that

I buy either from Walmart or Hobby Lobby. Will last longer than me.

My favorite is Moda. It washes nicely and I like the feel. I think if I am going to snuggle up with something I want it to feel inviting. I also like their designers.

There are many brands of fabric that I think are high quality, and from there I pick the designs that I like. Studio E and Northcott are two of my favorites.

I like this sentiment. How long does a quilt really need to last? Don't we want a reason why we need to make more? :o:thumbup:

Lately, I've been drawn to Art Gallery fabrics for their interesting designs, only have one or two pieces, but will probably get more. Oh, and I love about everything Anna Maria Horner does, so Free Spirit Fabrics is another go-to.. I've always been a fan of the griege that Robert Kaufman uses so I'll look at some of their designs first. I was disappointed with the thin-ness of the Moda Grunge I bought, so I kind of steer clear of Moda, even though 20 years ago, it was my favorite.

I will work with anything as long as it doesn't feel like straw. I think every fabric has a place and am thankful for the range of choices in texture (and price) available these days.

I have no preference. I buy what I like and if it feels good to me.

Red Rooster, South Seas Imports, Moda and Michael Miller. Oh I forgot Riley Blake!
