fabric catalog

I got 2 catalogs today, one from Keepsake Quilting and the other from Hancock's of Paducah. I had to put them both away. I want one of everything in them. Hancock's is full of beautiful batiks and all colors, from white to black and everything in-between. Keepsake as usual is full of beautiful kits. I'm trying not to buy any fabric for awhile, but it is a loosing battle. Did anyone else get their catalogs yet? They are off to the side, but I can hear a little voice calling my name. I need to move them further away!!!

I also got Connecting thread but not Hancocks yet. One at a time is probably best anyways!!!! LOL

I have actually saved so many of their catologs. So much inspiration in each one! I find more idea's from catalogs than I do magazines. When they arrive its hard not to sit down immediately and pour through each page.

Aren't those reds fabulous? And red's not high on my color list.

we got the keepsake quilting catalogue today. what we do is go through it once then go through a little more slowly the second time. that is when we cut out everything we like. then we put it in a "glue" book...or a kind of blank book like a journal or composition book. that way, we can look at the ones we like often. sometimes, we can even make our own patterns from the pictures. all it requires is graph paper! (someimes, we put the description with the picture just in case we need to contact the company for it. it might not be in the catalogue, but it might still be available.) my catalogue is already recycled! the cut-outs don't take up too much space either.

Keepsake is too expensive for me. But I do chart out some of the quilt kits to save----------along with the pic from the catalog.

I do the same as the last two members...enjoy the catalog and clip out the ones that catch my attention to try later on my own. I rarely order fabrics from the catalogs since there are at least four quilt stores within easy driving distance. If I do order online, it is usually from eQuilter when there is a sale and sometimes shipping is free. If the shipping is not free, I can click the option to pick up my order at the warehouse located in Boulder. When that happens, we combine it with a trip to a few nearby places. When we go see my son in another state, we stop at quilt stores along the way. There are garage sales and thrift stores, too, :D

I got my Connecting Threads catalog 2 days ago. I am SO IN LOVE with the Rhapsody in Red line. I've drooled over it at least 10 times so far. I just need to figure out what pattern I want to use it with. But a quilt from that line is definitely in my near future.

ArtsyOne 01-10-2013 05:41 AM

I got the Keepsake catalog yesterday, and like others have posted I read it cover to cover to look at different patterns and color combinations. Many many years ago I bought some of their scrap bags, but their prices are now so high that I haven't purchased anything from them in at least 15 years.

I got Keepsake & Connecting Thread. Which one has the red & blue Batiks on the inside back cover? OMG ! going to buy the 1/2 yards... I'll ask my sweet hubby for the $80.00 He never denies me! Red white & blue...... yummmy!

Received the Keepsake Quilting catalog this week... such great service... but oh the fabric moratorium is calling me.

joyce j 01-10-2013 08:00 AM

I just sent an order to Keepsake, than I get a new book an guess what another order in mail today. I guess I had better not look at any more catalogs.

ube quilting 01-10-2013 04:42 PM

I just got kQ and CT. There are some beautiful kits and fabric in CT. Will look at KQ in a few minutes!:D

I will not buy, I will not buy, I will not buy.
peace

I just spent around $40 plus at two of my LQSs for fabric to finish up two projects. Then I get Nancy's Notion's catalog and there is a kit for $40 that I fell in love with. I also had to hide the catalog... Maybe next month!

Geri B 01-11-2013 05:43 AM

The only thing I MIGHT buy from any of the catalogs is either a template or book, if the price, and or s/h is better than I can get on line....or at a real store...otherwise, I look thru and toss it.......

llweezie 01-11-2013 05:45 AM

I received my Keepsake booklet and LOVE so many of the kits, I too am struggling about ordering any as I have plenty here to keep me busy.... !!

Grandma Mary 01-11-2013 08:20 AM

I received Keepsake and CT. I loved the reds in CT too. CT's kits are reasonably priced, and I was tempted by some of them, especially the table runner in red. I worry about ordering kits in fear of being short of fabric because of making mistakes...for which I'm famous!

caspharm 01-11-2013 08:45 AM

I love to collect the Hancocks of Paducah because of all the fabrics with "labels" on them. I saw a suggestion long ago about collecting them for fabric history (in case I need something). I also keep the KQ catalogs (at least for awhile), not so much on the CT catalogs.

misseva 01-11-2013 09:22 AM

Got my Keepsake catalog last week in the new larger size. WOW! does it ever make you want to spend, spend, spend.

Amythyst02 01-11-2013 10:12 AM

Waaa I want to cry I have not gotten any of the catalogs yet : (

Probably cause I am on the other side of the US .... the warm side : ) that had freeze warnings last night!!!!!!

luciab 01-11-2013 11:46 AM

Received both Connecting Threads and Keepsake. Still drooling over everything especially the reds in CT.

meanmom 01-11-2013 02:19 PM

I don't get either catalog. I guess I need to sign up for them.

Lorileik 01-11-2013 03:08 PM

I hope i get them today! One of my past times is dreaming about quilting! some days after work i am actually too tired to do any quilting, but never too tired to think sbout it.

nancia 01-11-2013 05:31 PM

i joined the fabric moratorium so i am being as good as possible, but i did order books from ct ( yes, i love the reds!). the only real temptation is blue and white (or cream, or palest yellow). so far i have not seen what i'm looking for. i did buy some kaffe fassett strips from craftsy (hanging my head in shame). but hancock's never sends me their catalog and i've requested it repeatedly. just as well since now i look, dream, and toss it away.

I just received my Connecting Threads catalog too - there is nothing like a good old fashioned catalog to drool over. Reminds me when I was little and we would get the "Wish Book" around Christmas - I like to go through quickly the first time - then go back through and circle things or make notes about things I like - I can look at it over and over again.

My time 01-11-2013 06:55 PM

I got a Keepsake Catogue yesterday as well except.......it was in my husbands name. I don't know how tha happened but it sure made me chuckle. My husband was not impressed, lol!

Rose Marie 01-12-2013 06:33 AM

I get all three catalogs and love to drool over them.
But I get in trouble with Connecting Threads. The prices are so reasonable that I cant resist ordering.
The others are too expensive so no problem not ordering from them.
I notice that Keepsake has enlarged its catalog so you can see the products better, now if they would just lower the cost.
