Now what part of CO are you in? anywhere near the Denver metro

I would save that fabric for the back and go with something that will make the star shine. I do love that fabric though...I would want it somewhere, just not there. While I do think it looks good, I think it draws the eye to it rather than making the star shine.

Oh, I think it takes AWAY from the beautiful quilt. The star gets lost to me immediately. You asked, didn't you?
I agree with Barny. The fabric is pretty and I can see why you bought it with this quilt in mind, but I think it detracts from your amazing star. I'd love to see a fabric there that makes the star pop. |
This fabric has a lot of white space in it compared to the fabrics you've used for the star, so it would depend on what comes next to see whether it will be okay.

Ok next question...
What part of Englewood? because I am in Englewood just off Federal Blvd. Maybe someday we can meet up for coffee or something.

I actually really like that fabric - to my eye, and on my monitor, it kind of echoes the feel of the patterned line of diamonds about halfway down the star's rays, but in a more airy and light way...kind of like the denser pattern is expanding outward from itself and breaking up as it goes. (I do not know how to say what I mean!!)
I agree that you might want to audition the next fabric before making any firm decisions... Alsion |

I like the fabric. My question is what are you going to use in those spaces just beyond that?? I think I would pin that up on your design wall also before committing.
You blocks look very nice though. It will be a great quilt. |

I have another question about the current quilt I'm working on...sorry for having so many.
I just finished another block of my quilt and cannot decide if I'm happy with the top corner fabric...I really like the fabric itself but am wondering if it would be better to have the light solid color rather than introduce another fabric. Can I have opinions please on whether you all think it works or doesn't. Thanks, Yael The print reflects the nature of your block----------and the colors are a great match. Go for it! |
