I just found today that those binding clips like at JoAnn's, you can get at www.homesew.com and they have 50 of them for $5.25. I use them all the time and just love them. I don't understand how they can come off cause they click when you snap them into place.
Just thought I would let you know.

I use the cheaper black binder clips. From 1" to the 1 1/2" size depending on how large the length of the fabric. I write the yardage on the clip with a silver sharpie. Rubbing with paper towel or tissue takes off the marker when I need to change the yardage after using some of it. Slick and organized!

I guess they just come off from moving the quilt around-I used them on a queen size I was hand-quilting, and they just didn't stay on-maybe I should have just done a small section at a time. I think they would be ok with a smaller quilt-but I just use small applique pins now and got use to them. The longer pins stuck me too much and the thread kept getting caught!

The clips you are referring to are called "Buddy Clips" I posted Asking what they were. EasyyPreezy posted a site for them. They have been around for awhile. I'm sorry, I don't know how to transfer the site from my post to here. My post "Do you know what?" Tinker Aug 27,2011 Tinker

After trying clip-type barrettes, funky-shaped wire paper clips, and stick pins...
I now use the larger-sized plastic/vinyl coated paper clips on my boards. I've been very pleased with them.

They are stupid cheap too.
I buy mine at Dollar Tree - nice sized box for $1.

Large-sized paperclips used at both ends to hold fabric on my Easy Core Boards.

I sell the Easy Core Storage Boards here on the QB. I've tried the barrette style binding clips, but don't like the way they stick out the top/bottom. So I now use and advise my customers to use "Jumbo" "Coated" paper clips. I just fold the fabric under at the end at least 4 inches and clip into the fold and next to the board so the clip doesn't show and catch on other little bolts. Hope that helps - good luck and happy organizing. :)

Ammended: OK - she beat me to it - exactly as "Incoming2me" just described. Apparently I didn't read all the posts before I posted in. But that's exactly what most of us "Easy Core" users do.

Go to the hair department in Wal-Mart or similar store. They are called hair clips - exact same thing as the "fabric" clips, and MUCH cheaper than you'll find at any fabric store.

I think I'd try these first. Twelve for 94 cents. :)
