Hi Everyone. I'd like to thank all of you for your kind words on my black and white fabric fling quilt. It is one of the easiest patterns I have ever done.
I am sorry that no one is able to find it on the internet...odd thing is...I just tried to find it also and had no luck. Anyways, I have only been making quilts for a couple of years. A local quilt shop where I live would have a group of women that would just come on Thursday evenings and we all would do various craft projects. Some would crochet, applique, quilt, or just sit and chat with the women. There was a total of 10 of us that went. Anyways, I had asked the owner of the shop if I were to buy a pattern and all the fabric at her store would she teach me how to make a quilt. And she said yes she would. And so she showed me the Fabric Fling Quilt and said that I could do it and that she would help me. And she did. I chose all Batik fabrics for my very first one. Oh did that look snazzy. I showed it to a friend of mine and she bought it from me as a gift for her sister. Well I was hooked then. Anyways the shop is no longer here as the owner sold it and retired with her husband. And I have never seen the pattern again. |
It could have been a pattern that a employee or local quilter made up for the shop. Maybe someone will find it under another name some time :D:D:D
|
I ordered the pattern over the phone.....Googled the pattern name and was led to a shop Ginny Murph Designs in CT (I think). Went through all the info. on the web site and found a telephone number buried in some informations about precut tumbler locks. Haven't received the pattern yet but will keep you posted.

Was it done all with strips set on the diagonal? If you Google Quilting/Ginny Murphy Designs, it's there.

Good Morning Everyone and I hope that you all have a Wonderful and Safe New Years.
I have looked at my pattern for the Fabric Fling Quilt that is a Ginny Murphy Designs. The address on the back of my pattern is this: *Ginny Murphy Designs* The Quilt Shop Danbury, CT. phone: 203-743-0543 I don't know if you can call that phone number or not. Let me know if you can. |
I just e-mailed them to ask about the pattern I havent heard back yet, when I do I will post. They maybe closed until Monday.
|
I think there is a quilt very similar to this one on the Bonnie Hunter web site Free too.

This is just another string or strip quilt. I found a picture searching under 'string quilt.' Just sew some strips together. You probably want the widths of each cut fabric to be the same ... or not, The cut strips then use a 90 degree ruler to cut the strips and then sew different strips/strings together.

Hi everyone. One of the women Jackie O, on this site was able to contact the quilt shop that has this pattern.
Here is the information if you are wanting to purchase the pattern. "The Quilt Shop" in Danbury, CT The phone number of the store is (203)743-0543 Evidentally the Quilt Shop has gotten multiple inquiries about this pattern and Jackie had said that it could be from all the interest on this site. :) Thank you bunches Jackie O. I keep thinking about your fabric fling quilt & am going to incorporate in a scrappy memory quilt I am making. I would like to know what size block you started out with and after you did the cutting and re-piecing what size block did you end up with. I am working with 12" blocks.
Thanks for sharing, I love the black and white theme. |
Just call 203-743-0543 for the Fabric Fling Pattern.
|
I found the fabric fling quilt pattern on line a few days ago. Came back today to make a copy and the pattern has been deleted. How can I get a copy of the pattern?
Thanks, AW in CA |
The Fabric Fling Pattern belongs to Ginny Murphy Designs and can be purchased by calling The Quilt Shop at 203 743-0543
between 9am & 5pm EST Mon. thru Sat. with your info.. Thanks |
I believe you can do this for half of a main block:
Sew together SIX strips, 2-1/2" x 12-1/2" long Block should measure 12-1/2"x12-1/2" Press seams in one direction Cut once on the diagonal to make Half Square Triangle (HST) Mix up HST - use 4 per block |
thanks for the pattern idea
