Has anyone ever used a soap stone fabric marker? If so how well do they work? I am in search for something that will work to mark on dark fabric.

I personally love the rolling wheel with chalk in it. I also have the new pencils that you can buy the different colors of leads for them but I'm not sure how those do. They mark great but I SURE hope they wash out!

U can also use soap slivers. Ivory soap works well

soap stone works well but you have to sharpen it often as it is stone and stone polishes and makes it hard to mark. Otherwise works well.
Try the new ceramic mechanical pencils. They are good on dark fabric. Also Multi-Pastel Chalk pencils in white or light grey. |
I now use the new Frixon lens by Pilot. Got them at Target and now see them in the quilt stores for about double the price.

Soap slivers work good and wash out, just stay away from anything yellow as the dye is hard to impossible to remove.

I use a couple of different things. My three choices are below.
#1. Chalk Catridge Pencil by Dritz Quilting. #2. Tailor's Chalk by Prym-Dritz #3. Wax-Free Tracing Paper by Prym I haven't had a problem so far.  debra |
