I couldn't have passed up that sale either!!!

The fabric moratorium was my goal this year too. Guess what I got for Christmas? Gift card to Joann's and Hancock's. Well you can't look a gift horse in the mouth.
I tried the moratorium thing last year and promptly fell off the wagon. Now I'm just limiting myself(trying anyway). I will only buy fabric if needed for a quilt and only if a sale price is too good to pass up. I could sew for years with what I have and am going to try. But we all, occasionally, need to buy a little fabric to go with what we have. With me it's solids...black white etc. But I love fabric shopping...it soothes my soul!
sounds to me like you are not buying it but at 1/2 price you are stealing it ...lol
I don't blame you. I'd have bought that fabric if I had the opportunity. Happy sewing!
I would never have stopped at 18 yds. I have been know to buy bolts of fabric if it is 1/2 off.
Oh, you're not alone. I didn't sign up but was determined not to buy more. Local store in my area is closing and all of her fabric is $3 a yard. I went in today and (holding myself back, believe it or not), bought 68 yards - 2 yards each of 26 and 4 yards each of 4 different fabrics. And I seriously WAS holding myself back!!!
You just could not pass that type of sale up! That would have been way to hard to not by that fabric!!
I am so thrilled you were able to buy the fabric at such a great price! Congratulations to you for realizing this had to be a promise deal breaker. How often does this happen?
But...but....but....you had to go in and say goodbye to the owner of the shop. And the fabric just sort of followed you home, Right?
I wouldn't have stopped when you did....congrats on your restraint. |
