maybe check your stitch length? or stitch selection? I don't know much about all the electronic machines.

If you haven't done this yet, check that you stitch lenghth is not set to 0. How do I know?

After checking that stitch length is not set to 0, unthread top and leave presser foot up. Run machine and watch feed dogs to see if they are moving (they should be, to feed fabric).

Make sure the IDT foot is engaged. If it pops up the fabric won't feed well.

Use the handwheel and see if the feed dogs move. If they don't the first thing I would check is the up/down switch.
I have a 2170 and there are 2 switches on mine. One by the bobbin and the other outside. The one by the bobbin is the one that should control the feed dogs on yours. Make sure the switch is all the way over and not half way.

Also take the needle plate off and look under there for threads, lint, or something else that could be hindering the feed dogs. You can see a lot more with the plate off.

I have the 2046 for everyday use.

Check that you have engaged the feed dogs up properly. Then check that the presser foot really does go down when it should. Check your stitch length and any other settings.

This should help you pinpoint if there really is a problem or not. If there is still a problem I expect you need better help than we can provide.

The motor in the machine was ceased, my Phaff 2048 that I paid $2500 for just got an offer for trade of $80??????

Oh no! The worst news possible. So sorry. How long have you had the machine? Gee, that wouldn't give me much confidence in buying another Phaff.
