Read recently about one of the quilters wh put all her fabrics on carboard 7 1/2"x11 1/2 and or 4"x7 1/2" and it looks so wonderful but unforatunately I didn't make note of her posting and now I can't find it. Does anyone know where I can find it? It really let you see just what is in your stash.

I remember seeing that one. I'll try to find it.

I can't find it. But AlaskaSunshine has some threads in the tutorials section with the same idea. Or maybe that's who you meant. It does mention those sizes, (or close)

Make sure whatever you use is acid-free.

I have a friend who folds her fabric twice (so that it's approx. 11" wide) then folds it around her 6 x 24 ruler. Then she slips the ruler out and stacks the fabric on a shelf.

I bought the plastic organizers from www.polarnotions.com. They are a little pricey at a little over $1 each, but I figure they'll last me a whole lot longer than cardboard. And they slip onto the shelf just like a book.

One of the Board quilters has a sister who makes them; she'll even cut to your own measurements and I believe is more reasonable than Polar Notions.
MistyMarie is the Board members name.
Gwen is the sister: http://www.quiltfabricorganizers.com is her website.
If you order directly from her the postage is included

i use the cardboard bolts from Joanns. they are free for the asking. i use a ruler and box cutter to cut them to the size i want. usually i cut.
i don't know if they are acid free or not, and it is not an issue for me.

Thank you, thank you, thank you - you gals are right on the ball I must say. I spent over hour looking for this but couldn't remember where it was I saw it.
You are a doll.

I second the Polar Notions ones, they are the best!

You can use corrugated plastic sheets(something you might be able to find from a local sign company) or you can use foam core
