Has anyone ordered from a company called Connecting Threads? I rec'd a catalogue from them and ther is some very nice stuff in it with some very nice prices. The fabric selections are beautiful but can anyone tell me if the quality is as good as it looks. I hate working with cheap feeling fabric and usually only order fabric names I'm familiar with. Any input would be helpful. They have a website www.connectingthreads.com. Thanks DonnaCee

Hi DonnaCee!

I have ordered thread from them when it was on sale and I think the thread is great and the colors are wonderful. I haven't ordered fabric from them yet because of the price, but I have been eyeing the blue fabric line. Let me know if you order any and if the fabric is quilting quality.

I have not ordered from them, but I received the catalog in the mail. I think they have a lot of great stuff.
I contacted them about getting wholesale prices for my business, but they said they are already considered wholesale.

I, personally, don't consider $6.00/yard wholesale, but...
Some of their prices were pretty reasonable. I will rarely pay $6.00 for one yard, but if I have to I will. BUT...I cannot buy fabric for that price to resale.

I'm rambling. I know that wasn't the question you asked. That is my few cents worth.
Thanks for listening.

Connecting Threads is a reputable company and their fabric should be top quality.

In case you missed it, their website has a nice collection of free patterns. One of the best I have seen!

ButtercreamCakeArtist 07-30-2007 05:29 PM

Cathe~ I didn't see the free patterns. I haven't made it to the website, yet.

to all~
and just in case I miss-typed... or it was taken in a negative way... I wasn't de-grading them one bit. I haven't ordered from them, personally. I was just saying that I cannot pay $6 for fabric to resale...[and I have a business, for those that don't know]...
no negatives, here...no way! I just put more than my 2 cents in...

:D

I think the coneflower applique wall hanging is calling to me. I'm going to look over my stash this weekend and see what needs replenishing. I'll let you know when I get something from them.

I ordered fabric from them some time ago and was satisfied. A fellow quilter in this area orders from the ALL the time and she hasn't complained EVER. Kady

I've purchased the thread (sets), on sale, it was cheaper even with shipping than purchasing Coats & Clark's mercherized cotton at Wal-Mart or JoAnn Fabrics. I've got all the threads sold by Connecting Threads except for one set which is on order and should be shipped any day. I can remember when they first advertised they sold out quickly! There was a positive response when I posted to a sewing list, haven't read any negative comments. A good quality thread IMHO

I'd love to purchase some of their new fabrics but will have to wait, living on a fixed income isn't fun!

Miranda!!!!! Perhaps this would be better sent privately, but i'll bet others will back me up on this.

stop questioning everything you say to us, Dear. we always understand what you mean and the way you mean it. you've never said anything offensive or mean-spirited to or about anybody. most of us ramble from time to time. most of us wander off-topic from time to time. you are ALLOWED to be as goofy and crazy from time to time - just like the rest of us are from time to time.

you are a NICE person. your thoughts and words have as much value as anybody else's. give yourself more credit and RELAX!!!! ok?

Miranda,
Read Patrice's last message, daily,! Several times a day! NO ONE here is judging anything said, if they are......shame on them, NOT YOU!!
I personally look forward to posts of yours and Heather's, you being my "homies" and all.

Seriously, give yourself a break! K? 'nuff said???????

I haven't even read many of your posts, but I didn't see anything offensive in it either. So ditto.

Miranda - not a negative word noted. You go girl! :D :D :D

Miranda, you're real and we wouldn't want you any other way. Just be yourself; no one who takes the time to read your posts will ever think you intentionally say things to offend. You're a sweetheart and a lot of fun. I love to read your posts!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion here. We're a pretty diverse group, and so we may not always agree with each other on techniques, etc, but that's ok. I take the advice that I think will help me, and just appreciate that someone else was willing to share what works for them, even if I don't think it's for me. I think we're a pretty neat group myself! I love the diversity, that's how I learn! :D

I don't think she (Miranda) has a mean bone in her body. It is just hard sometimes to express your tone/emotions. But,I've never heard a mean thing said.

Sharon,
You crack me up! LOL. :D
