Hancocks of Paducah has a good reputation. I'm sure if you contact them and explain the problem they will make it right. If the web sites don't have a good reputation it could really hurt their business. Wow, hope this isn't a trend, I buy most of my fabric on line.

This is the reason I have never ordered fabric online.
There is no way to know the quality of a fabric ordered online.
I want to see and feel the fabric before I make a purchase.

Aw, thats really sad!

Well, I just opened my first order from fabric.com and I am more than pleased with the quality and the price.
I'd contact them as well.

I recently noticed that some of the R. Kaufman fabric has been very thin. I also had a new Hoffman that was not printed on the same high quality base fabric they are known for it was noticably thinner... and priced at the "new" high price. These are not isolated to online. I have "seen" and touched in the local quilt shops and can say that the older fabrics are thicker.
Its a shame that the manufactures are resorting to reducing the quality... and its some of the top names in the industry.

We had a discussion in a class last night and the teacher explained that the fabrics go through a first production run to test the pattern and the colors. Those fabrics go to big stores like Joanne. Then the manufacturers tweak the colors and use a better cotton to print the bolts for the LQSs.

But Hancock's of Paducah shouldn't have these!

Shouldn't is the operative word. Either something slipped through their quality control or they are testing the waters in anticipation of the rising cotton prices. I would ask too if that had been mine. My order from them came in just perfect last week.

I sure hope this was just an aberration. I'm waiting on my first order from Hancock's of Paducah, and now I'm concerned!

Definitely call them about the problem.
