I was buying some yardage for my next project when I started a discussion with the saleslady. She told me that when there is a large turnover of fabric at any one Wal Mart, that the powers that be in Wal Mart will allow that fabric section to remain and some are actually expanding!! I thought it was good news. How about you?

My Walmart is in the process of expanding. They are also adding a better quality of fabrics.
|
Good! Here walmart is only place to get fabric at an affordable price!!
|
I probably am not making friends by saying this - but I don't care for the fabric at Wal-mart - maybe they don't all sell the same stuff?? Do you think they have more available if the stores aren't near other fabric stores?
|
Sorry, but I was not happy with WM fabric, you maybe have a larger WM, but the one here has poor quality fabrics.

Ours had closed their department but has brought back a good portion of it. Here, there is a Hobby Lobby right across the road, a Joanne's practically right next door and a larg quilting/sewing center less then 2 miles away. But the material now is of better quality.

I only buy fabrics at quilt shops because I am lucky enough to be able to afford it. I sure remember those times earlier in my life when I had a lot more responsibilities, and if I wanted to sew I had to buy my fabrics/supplies at WalMart and Joann's and Hancocks. I am so thankful that those places provided me a way to enjoy my love of sewing even when times were tough.

Whoops! My fingers did it again. I am having trouble this morning and am posting multiple replies, instead of just one. Sorry about that!
