Sometimes I get a piece of fabric the rotary cutter will not cut through at all, it just glides along the top. it's cotton fabric. Weird. :?:

Time for a new blade usually. I find that a dull blade will do this or skip
|
Every once in a while I get one of these, too. Sometimes a new blade doesn't even help.
I don't know why. Do you pre-wash? I don't, so maybe it's something they've used to treat the fabric? |
I had this happen a few times and found out that it was my cutting board and putting to much preasure on the blade when cutting.
|
I've never heard of this problem, make sure you are applying enough pressure.
|
Usually it is the blade - but it could be your cutting board - try a different spot on the board, turning it over or try cutting in a different direction. If there are a lot of cuts in the board - the fabric can sometimes be "pushed into" the previous cuts.

I've had it happen because the blade is dull, there is fuzz left over in grooves in the cutting board, and some of the white on white fabric has a rubbery feel to the print that the rotary cutter doesn't like. My Martelli rotary cutter is also picky about blades. It will wobble with some brands.

It's the fabric, a new blade has no effect even changing the cutting board. It's seems the fabric is cut proof. The next piece I find like it I'm going to take it to guild and give the first person to cut through it a prize. That will be something different to do. LOL
