Which fabric would you use for the border on this mini twister quilt?

I really like the plaid because it has the same colors as twister blocks, but maybe it is too overwhelming. I'm not too excited about the green.

Which one would you use? Thanks in advance.

Why not both? Try the dark green, then a very narrow band of your bright green or the darker yellow, then the plaid.

I think both, too. I think I'd put a narrow green border & then the plaid in a little wider one.

I like the idea of two borders too.!

but if you can only use one, i prefer the green

Thanks y'all! I never thought of two borders but will use that idea.

Raggiemom 08-31-2012 02:43 PM

I like a narrow green border then a wider plaid one. The plaid really picks up all the colors.

MattieMae 08-31-2012 03:14 PM

The block colors are delicious. I love plaid, so I vote for that pretty plaid fabric.

The plaid floats my boat! ;) That's a beautiful quilt you're making!

Love the plaid so hope you use it alone or using 3 borders.

This is my suggestion too!

ArtsyOne 08-31-2012 04:02 PM

I'm also voting for a very narrow green border and then the plaid as a wider one. Love your colors!

I would not have thought about the plaid but I LIKE it. A narrow dark green border would look nice and seperate the blocks from plaid.

VERY NICE quilt

virtualbernie 08-31-2012 04:14 PM

I love the plaid too!

The Plaid>>>>

QuiltnLady1 08-31-2012 06:21 PM

Agreed -- narrow green border (or maybe a folded flange) and then the plaid.

lfletcher 09-01-2012 05:29 AM

I really like the plaid. It makes the quilt sizzle.

rush88888 09-02-2012 03:06 AM

i prefer the green. the plaid is too busy for the busy quilt.

Grace MooreLinker 09-02-2012 05:41 AM

the dark green

IdahoSandy 09-02-2012 06:05 AM

Just don't think the plaid is right for your quilt, so go for the green or some other color in the quilt since the quilt is small it would not cost that much more for material.

No matter what you do,
it will be a beautiful quilt.

Plaid is my vote

I hate to go against the tide but I think the plaid and green next to each other as in 2 borders will be to dark. The plaid really sets off the colors in the quilt, IMHO. Very pretty quilt!!

I made a twister recently and used a narrow border followed by wider binding. Here's a peek:

I just want to see this when you've added the borders! Love that plaid fabric with it, and narrow green strip between.. you've had some great advice from all the quilters...

ljacobs 09-03-2012 09:01 AM

How about a green flange and a plaid border??

pollyjvan9 09-03-2012 09:29 AM

I vote for both.
