I found tutorial for OBW but nowhere could I find out how much fabric to get, or how to pick out the fabrics you are going to use. Help would be greatly appreciated.

It really all depends on the size of the quilt you are wanting to make.

typically, you will need around 3 yards+ to get the repeats running the length of the yardage...

You need the book "One Block Wonders" by Maxine Rosenthal. It gives all that information in detail with examples of what not to buy for the best results and the method is explained with pictures too.

Started taking a class yesterday! She told us to pick up 22-24 inch repeat--4 1/2 yrds or 6 yrds if we will do the border with it.

Okay thanks. Today I finally ordered the book from the Library, but it has to come from somewhere else. My DH says my library of quilting books is larger than our local library. And the ones they have are really old. Seems the designer don't even want their books in the library. Can't find French Braid, or Bargello books there either.

One Block Wonder. If you go to the tutorials and picture topics you will see that they are just fabulous.

I have a few books that has alot of info about it, and I hope it isn't too hard! The cuts are smaller than I wanted. The teacher had her's on the design board, and it is beautiful!
