I remember this posting what pattern did you end up using. I don't remember if you said.
I also did a turning 20 and goofed it up, so I layed the blocks every which way and I love it.

Totally Awesome! I love it!! I really love the fabrics and would like to use them...this might totally fit the bill. Is this a pattern you came up with on your own, or is it something I can find somewhere?

How sweet of you!
The design is called "Newport Beach", found in a Judy Martin book named 'Scraps'. It's the quilt on the cover, in the top right corner. Instead of going with a true shadow design, I used what I had - the solid red. Here's the link in case anyone is interested.

I was able to use the squares I had already cut out (and ripped out a couple of times). I also used the solid red for the shadow part, so I only needed to add the white. I felt really lucky to have found a pattern that could use the original scraps from my awful TurningTwenty!

Sometimes the Moda's are a little too busy for me. I'd suggest sneaking in some coordinating solids to calm down the prints a bit.
