Hi - I am new to this group and have been enjoying the postings. I am wondering if anyone has any pattern ideas that could be used for making a family geneology wall hanging?? to put individual names on each block with birthdate, date of death. I have some ideas, but wondering if any of you have ideas. Thank you KK

How about a tree, with individual names and dates on the leaves?

One thought I've been kicking around. How about making a Pedigree chart....you could make "labels" with your printer and applique them to a chart. I'm thinking that would be boring so I might add a tree somewhere in there...like a tree with immediate family on one side and the pedigree chart on the back side??????????????

I found this a couple months ago and my family laughed that my mother-in-law would need a forest. This is by no means an endorsement because I know nothing about how good this pattern is but the idea was kind of interesting. Hope this helps.

For my in-laws' 60th wedding anniversary I made a full sized bed quilt and put pictures of all the kids and grandkids on it. Printed them with the cyanotype method, (would never do it again!) Now you can print them from your computer and they are really nice. It turned out to be a beautiful quilt and grandma could never bring herself to put it on a bed for fear she would somehow ruin it.

I made my parents a 50th anniversary album quilt. Each child and grandchild wrote a sentiment on a block. They flipped over it. I immediately wrapped my Dad up in it b/c he's always cold and my Mom snatched it up saying, he might get it dirty GRRRRRR :D :D
But he made her a beautiful ladder that it hangs on. It was a true labor of love to make :)
