I have been quilting for over 20 years and just watched Sharon Schamber's video on binding a quilt. I have learned so much I wished I'd known, including a simple and easy way to join strips to make continuous binding. check out her videos and maybe you can get some more ideas about teaching your class. Good luck!

Well, I guess this is where I differ. Binding is not a problem for me. I have a book that explains the quilting steps and binding is in there.

If you want me to post the name of the book I can but it will have to wait until this evening.

PM if you want me to do it, I may not find the post again.

Some say to square & cut off the quilt & then bind. Others say to square up making a sewing line, stitch on binding & then cut off excess. Which is better?

Advantages of straight of grain binding verses diagonal bindings or vice versa.

Any good suggestions on making those strips line up perfectly when sewing together into strips.
